Our Association which was founded by Jerletha McDonald in February 2014, is comprised of a diverse group of professional licensed and registered family child care homes. Child Care Center owners and directors are welcome to join as well.
The Association meets the second Saturday of each month at the Arlington Public Library (Downtown Branch).
The goals of the Association include:
Education: to provide quality training, to encourage all providers to obtain their director credentials, or CDA certification along with furthering their education by obtaining an associate or bachelor degree in child development or a closely related field.
Quality & Accreditation: Encourage all providers to become Texas rising Star, or NAFCC accredited.
Peer Support: to support providers, share ideas and fellowship with one another.
Community relations: educate parents, guardians and providers of the importance of quality childcare and the benefits of early childhood education and kindergarten readiness.
Community service: provide community and outreach services.
Legislative: to keep current with minimum standards and adopted rule changes, participate in DFPS child care council meetings regarding child care policies and issues
Business Management - Provide family child care business owners with the resources and skills thy need to run high quality sustainable business.
